A Non-profit Organisation, Aids prevention of Nigeria (APIN) in collaboration with the Lagos state Ministry of Health, Primary Healthcare Board and other Stakeholders in the Health sector held a free HIV/AIDS testing campaign in four Local Government Areas in Lagos state and over 1.5million people in the areas benefitted from it.

The Coordinator of APIN in Lagos, Mrs. Remi Olaitan disclosed that of all the 32 Local Government Area in the country notorious for having the highest rate of the disease, eight were in Lagos and they have decided to take the fight to four of the eight LGA in Lagos first before visiting the others to sensitize them; they will make sure that almost everybody is tested in order to detect the infected ones, link them to care and treatment so as to reduce transmission level.
