A study just by the U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has shown that one in ten pregnant women consume alcohol. The women were interviewed by telephone with one in every ten confirming alcohol intake in the last 30 days. The team leader, Cheryl Tan expressed surprise and said that no matter how little the volume, how infrequent and what type of alcohol is consumed; the act is unnecessary.
Alcohol is associated with birth defects, miscarriages and complications of pregnancy such as high Blood Pressure.
