6. Federal Govt to equip 10,000 Healthcare centres- Minister.
Speaking at the commissioning of an Intensive Care Unit at the National Orthopedic Hospital, Dala, Kano, the Minister of State for Health, Dr. E. Osagie Ehanire has said that the Federal Government has commenced equipping 10, 000 healthcare centres,
one in each political ward, with a view to improving healthcare service delivery to Nigerians, adding that the concept was aimed at taking healthcare service to the doorsteps of Nigerians. The Chief Medical Director of the National Orthopedic Hospital Dala, Dr. Muhammad Nuhu Salihu, said paucity of fund had been the major challenge of the hospital, explaining, “From 2013 to date, our annual budget only takes us to September, while we manage for the rest of the months.”
