Niger State HIV/AIDS Control Agency has stated that it was planning to submit a bill for a law against stigmatisation of people living with HIV/AIDS in the state even as the Ministry of Health stated that 379,478 people tested positive to the disease since 2007 to date. The director general of the agency, Baba Umaru stated this yesterday at a joint press conference with the commissioner of health, Hajiya Hadiza Abdullahi represented by the permanent secretary, Dr Ibrahim Tiffin to mark the World’s AIDS Day in Minna. According to him the agency will soon submit the bill to the Ministry of Health while a meeting will be set up with the Niger State House of Assembly Committee on Health.
