In a statement made available to the press in Abuja recently, the Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that about 16 million babies have been born so far into conflict zones globally in 2015. The well known conflict zones include the North east of Nigeria, Sudan, Yemen, Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. According to him, these babies face uncertain future with difficult access to health and educational facilities and multiple challenges to their well being.
He believes the coming year will be better if the world could find better ways of resolving conflicts and confronting climate change.
