The American Cancer Society has raised the recommended age for the commencement of mammography for women from 40 years to 45 years. It has also recommended that the frequency be reduced from annually to bi-annually from the age of 45 years.
However some experts believe the age be lowered as some women in their 20s and 30s have been victims of breat cancer.
