Air pollution causes more than 3 million premature deaths worldwide yearly- WHO.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution is the greatest environmental risk to health with about 3million premature deaths every year. It says that 4 out of every five city dwellers are exposed to air pollution far above the WHO’s acceptale minimum – 98 percent of cities in developing countries fall in this category while in developed countries it is 56 percent. Those exposed to polluted air face increased risk of lung cancer, heart disease, respiratory infection and heart disease.

Air pollutant is small and fine perticulate matter mainly resulting from car/truck smoke, also smoke from furnances, old coal-fired power plants and garbage burning. Construction sites also produce air pollutants.
