Significant growth in the country’s agricultural sector has contributed, in a way, to the improvement of nutritional levels of Angolans, said the State Secretary for Agriculture, Amaro Tati. Speaking on the sidelines of the swearing-in ceremony of the members of the Angolan Nutritionists Association, Amaro Tati attributed the agriculture growth in Angola to the public, individual and private effort.

Amaro Tati expects the initiative of nutrition professionals enable creation of the key tools capable to help the policies of agriculture, Health and Industry sectors and bring change of society’s behaviour regarding eating habits. “We hope that a key tool has born for the country’s future to ensure a longer life expectancy of eating well” he said.

In her turn, the chairman of the Angolan Association of Nutritionists, Djamilah Morgado, said the objective of team is to address the nutritional issues of the country whether at the level of fighting against malnutrition of the scientific sector and combat other nutritional problems associated with obesity.
