Australia has confirmed two new cases of Zika virus infection in Queensland State, the only place in Australia where Aedes mosquito thrives. The two cases came from El-Salvador and Samoa where they had gone visiting, two countries that are already affected.

A week earlier, a case was confirmed in Sidney, the person had just returned from a trip to Central America. This brings to 13, the total number of cases so far confirmed in Australia in the last two years.
The Government is therefore taking steps to educate Australians on the disease.
Meanwhile, the outbreak of Zika virus infection in the Americas is affecting travels to the area, it has fallen by about 46 percent; this has not in way deterred the organizers of and participants in the current Rio De Jenairo carnival in Brazil.
