The Bank of Industry, yesterday in Kano said that it had so far disbursed over N16bn loans to not less than 68 enterprises in Kano state. The Managing Director of the bank, Mr. Rasheed Olaoluwa, made the disclosure at the inauguration of the bank’s newly established office in Kano.

He said, ‘’the BoI has, on its own, provided direct loans in excess of N16bn to 68 enterprises in Kano State. ‘’In pursuit of inclusive growth, the bank has worked assiduously to identify SME clusters in Kano State, ostensibly to extend financial support to the entrepreneurs operating therein.”

He enjoined the people of the state to take advantage of the bank’s presence in Kano to boost socio-economic activities. ‘’We believe the developmental impact of the bank will be greatly enhanced in support of the real sector and complement the state government’s socio-economic development objectives,” he said.

In his remark, the Governor of the state, Adbullahi Ganduje, represented by his Deputy, Prof. Hafiz Abubakar, pledged the state government’s readiness to partner with the bank so as to create job opportunities while commending the management of the bank for establishing its office in the state.
