The Borno Government on Tuesday said it would sponsor 30 female students on a five-year MBBS degree programme at the El Razi Medical College, Khartoum, Sudan.
Gov. Kashim Shettima said this while receiving the students at the Government House, Maiduguri. He said the state government had budgeted 1.1 million dollars for the programme.
He said the government would provide comprehensive sponsorship of the students.“This include the cost of procuring visa, air tickets, tuition fee, study and up keep allowances, among others.”
Shettima said the gesture would tackle the shortage of doctors in the state.
