Brazilian health authorities have confirmed a case of transmission of Zika through transfusion of blood from a donor who had been infected with the mosquito-borne virus.
Campiness health officials said the donor of the contaminated blood developed symptoms of Zika virus infection after what was mistaken for Denque, a virus borne by the same mosquito that transmits Zika.
