Some drug experts have called on the British government to legalise the use of marijuana just like a lot of countries have done including about half the number of States in the United States of America.

They claim Britain is spending about 500 million pounds every year and scarce personnel on a drug war that it cannot win.

One Professor David Nutt, a former advisor to the British Government on Drugs claims that the consumption of marijuana use in Portugal has dropped by about 50 percent since it was decriminalized and the addicts treated as patients instead of criminals.

Canada and some countries in Europe and South America have legalized and decriminalized marijuana.
