The Chief Medical Officer of England, Sally Davies, has advised Britons from next week to stay off alcohol for about two or three days a week to give their livers time to rest. She will also advise them to reduce the volume of alcohol consumed on consumption days; men and women are to have different limits.

 

However, experts believe there should no disparity between men and women and maintain that any level of alcohol is injurious to health.
