Cuba has developed vaccines against lung cancer, the vaccines are meant to boost the immune system of the victim to fight the disease according to Ana Victoria Torre, the head of oncology services at St. Santa Clara University Hospital in Central Cuba.

The vaccines are undergoing clinical trials although already in use in special situations in Cuba. They are usually administered after chemotherapy and radiotherapy with survival of additional months and years.

The vaccines will soon be introduced to Puerto Rico and the United States of America as Roswell Park Cancer Institute in New York is already working on them.

Lung cancer occupies the number one cancer killer position in both sexes globally and in most cases due tobacco smoking.
