An Italian research team has shown that daily physical exercise boosts the plasticity of the brain which naturally declines with age.

In the study, twenty adults with patch on one eye were made undergo a test twice, first while sedentary and the other riding a stationary cycle at intervals.


In both tests they were made to watch a movie. It was discovered that those who exercised had better perceptual effect of eye patching than those who were sedentary.  In other words the sensory part of the brain performed better following some exercise.
