A recent study done by a team at Harvard University, U.S.A. has shown that one to two cups of sugary drinks a day can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and type 2 Diabetes.

According to the report just published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology, one or two drinks (cups/average bottle) daily can increase risk in later years as below;

      Heart attack or heart disease by 35 percent

      Type 2 Diabetes——————-by 26 percent

      Stroke——————————–by 16 percent

Most sugary drinks are sweetened by corn syrup which contains fructose, a form of sugar. Fructose is broken down in the liver and converted to fat and stored in the adipose tissue of the body leading to obesity. Obesity increases the body’s resistance to insulin which in leads to Type 2 diabetes and heart disease.

We should all take note of this.
