1. Doctors to begin strike in Teaching Hospitals.

After the intervention of the speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara and other prominent personalities in the country, the Residents Doctors suspended their nationwide strike on June 24, 2016, for an alleged failure of the Federal Government to fulfill an agreement it made with the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD), has made the letter to order its members to withdraw their services from tertiary medical facilities across the country.

Addressing journalist yesterday in Kano, the President of NARD, Dr. Muhammed Adamu Askira, said the decision to embark on another round of industrial action was reach at the end of the association’s national executive council meeting held between July 25 to 30, in Keffi, Nasarawa state, and that series of agreement reach with the government on the demand of NARD were yet to be implemented by the management of the 25 tertiary medical center.

He also alleged that resident doctor’s were unduly victimized and sacked, particularly at Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) and others were yet to be reinstated contrary to resolution reached with the government.
