Thousands of soldiers, health workers and volunteers are now combing the mosquito prone parts of the Dominican Republic to tackle the outbreak of Zika virus infection on the island. Such areas are being fumigated and the inhabitants educated on the symptoms, mode of spread and prevention of the disease.
About ten cases of Zika virus infection have been confirmed on the island.
