The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has described drug counterfeiting as an economic sabotage and terrorism against public health, following a recent Agency’s destruction exercise of 11 containers of fake, adulterated and counterfeit drugs valued at N9.317 billion in Port Harcourt, River State. Reacting to the destruction exercise adjudged to be the largest quantity of such seized products destroyed in the history of NAFDAC, its Acting Director-General, Mrs. Yetunde Oni, has vowed to make Nigeria a living hell for importers and manufactures of fake drugs and other regulated products.
