Several studies have established a close relationship between education and health. Educated women are healthier than uneducated women; children of educated women are less prone to ill health. Educated women marry at later age and are less likely to die from pregnancy related illness. Because of education, people are more conversant with healthy life styles.
Education removes people from poverty level, poverty leads to ill-health while persistent ill health leads to poverty but education can break this vicious cycle. Meanwhile children of the poor are five times more likely to die before five years of age than children of the well to do. Also poor persons are two and half times more likely to die between 15 and 59 years than who are well off.
