Eleven survive helicopter crash in Lagos, Nigeria
A helicopter belonging to Bristow Helicopters crashed into the Lagos Lagoon , Southwest Nigeria, yesterday but no casualties were recorded. The plane had 11 passengers and crew and was enroute Port Harcourt-Lagos when it apparently developed some fault. The Lagos Emergency Management Agency (LEMA), Nigerian Navy and NIMASA came quickly to the rescue of the passengers and crew.

About six months ago, a helicopter belonging to the same company also crashed into the Lagos Lagoon but some passengers in that accident were not as lucky.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has asked the company to suspend the operation of all its Sikorsky Helicopter S-76 series in its fleet to enable the agency carry out a full audit of all the planes.
