Under the auspices of Childhood Neuropsychiatric Disorder Initiative, (CNDI), no fewer than 2,500 nursing mothers are benefitting from a free medical care in Enugu state.

The CNDI chairman, Dr. Muideen Owolabi Bakare said the programme was taking place in two designated centers each in Enugu State(St. Patrick Hospital, Asata Enugu, Government Health centres, Abakpa Enugu) and Lagos State.

Bakare, a Consultant psychiatrist said the programme titled “Tracking Maternal Depression and Child Growth” is focusing on identifying and providing intervention to women with signs and symptoms of post-partum depression when they bring their children to immunization clinics at the primary healthcare level.
