A new study published in a Science Journal indicates that chronic exposure to an environment toxin beta-Methlamino-L-alanine(BMAA) may increase risk of Neurodegenerative illnesses.
The study conducted by scientists at the Institute for Etho-Medicine and University of Miami Brain Endowment said it provides for future research in Alzheimer’s disease, Amylotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)-a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain/spinal cord and Parkinson’s disease. This is because exposure to BMAA in the study triggered Alzheimer like brain tangles and amyloid in the animals.
