An explosion has occurred in an oil spillage site in Odidi community, near Warri, Delta State, killing four persons.

The incident has thrown Odidi community in South-west Local Government Area of Delta State in Nigeria’s south-south into mourning.

According to a community leader, the spillage was as a result of old pipes under the auspices of NPDC.

Apart from the dead, all effects of the spillage include aquatic damage resulting in loss of aquatic life and immediate vegetation. Main while the occupation of the inhabitants is fishing, the spillage and resultant explosion have denied the inhabitants their main source of livelihood.
