2. FG, private sector partner on primary healthcare services
To help achieve more sustainable and efficient primary health care services in Nigeria, private sector experts have partnered with government at the federal and state levels.
The Health Leadership Academy (HLA), Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PHN) and other partners have developed a fellowship programme – the Leadership Enhancement and Accountability for the Public Sector (LEAPS) – to train states’ policy makers and implementers at the state levels to enhance their managerial capabilities. The first batch from seven states was trained in Abuja.
Dr. Kelechi Ohiri, CEO, Health Strategy & Delivery Foundation and HLA Advisory Board member told our correspondent in Abuja that LEAPS Programme is a fellowship programme designed to enhance the leadership acumen and execution capacity of senior healthcare administrators and policymakers operating at a state or regional level
