Foundation treats 30 mentally ill and epileptics’ patients.

More than 30 people diagnosed with Mental illnesses and epilepsy will benefit from the Gede Foundation’s first mental health camp in Mararabe.

Speaking on this, The Project Coordinator, Mr. Kizito Ebhohimen, said that the mental health camp was the culmination of six weeks of preparation and community mobilization, saying among the wide range of conditions presented to the psychiatrist were psychosis, schizophrenia, substance abuse and epilepsy ‘’Before now, there were field consultations with community stakeholders, research to understand the situation with community and mobilization by volunteers.

Ebhohimen also said the essence of the mental health camp was to help those who were living mental illness and epilepsy to access community based diagnosis and treatment, adding that the second mental health camp was  held in Mpape.
