Wonders, they say, shall never end; one would have thought that the media through which gender equality is preached daily will practice gender equality but a recent study report just published says otherwise.A study by the Global Media Monitoring Project in 2015 has revealed that fewer women are engaged in the media and less news is also devoted to women. Only 24 percent of news anchors are women, news coverage of women is only 17 percent in the traditional media, while in the digital media, it is only 25 percent.

According to the report, it will take about 75 years to bridge the inequality noticed today.

The report says that the inequality in the media is least in South America but greatest in the Middle East.
