1. Vaginal Candidiasis  causes vaginal discharge
Candidiasis is an infection of the vagina with a yeast- like agent called Candida Albicans. It is associated with vaginal itching and irritation. The discharge is whitish, thick and excessive. This condition is common in pregnancy and could also follow prolonged use of some drugs and certain health conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus. It could be sexually transmitted.

2. Golden melon can help protect eyesight
Fruits like Golden melon are important for keeping good sight; it contains an antioxidant, Zeaxanthin which protects the macular of the eye.
A 2004 study published in the Archives of Ophthalmology, indicated that eating three or more servings of fruit per day may lower your risk of age-related macular
degeneration (ARMD), the primary cause of vision loss in older adults, by 36 per cent, compared to persons who consume less than 1.5 servings of fruit daily.

3. Rabies infection is preventable
There are vaccines to prevent rabies; pre-exposure (before a bite) and post- exposure (after a bite). Apart from that, all domestic dogs should be vaccinated against rabies from the age of three months. If you are bitten by any animal; dog/bat/cat/foxes/wolves, see your doctor immediately for appropriate treatment.

5. Risk of some cancers slightly higher among hairdressers
Studies have shown that there is a slight risk increase among Hairdressers for some cancers than the general population; the cancers include lung/respiratory tract cancer, cancer of the blabber (more in males), breast, digestive organs and genitals (uterus, ovaries). However the difference in risk is most pronounced in the case of cancer of the bladder and multiple myeloma (a form of bone cancer).
The increased risk is due to skin absorption of the chemicals used by Hairdressers to dye and dress hair. Use of hand gloves can reduce the risk. The chemicals can also enter the body of the barber when he uses his mouth to hold combs, pins or clips while working.

6. Certain conditions must be met by Donor before Blood donation.
A donor must be healthy, a sick person cannot donate blood. A prospective donor’s blood is tested for several disease conditions before donation – such Hepatitis B and C, HIV, Syphilis, Malaria parasites, genotype and haemoglobin level; an anaemic person cannot donate blood.
