1. Get regular eye examinations
A survey by the American Optometric Association (AOA) found that 85 percent of people valued their sight as their most prized sense, but less than half of that group had an eye exam in the past two or three years.
Adults, especially those over 40, should have yearly eye exams, particularly to prevent age related ocular conditions including macular degeneration (the part of the retina that processes light deteriorates), cataracts (the lens of your eye becomes cloudy) and glaucoma (pressure in the eye damages the optic nerve). Children should have their first eye exam between the ages of 6 and 12months.

Be sure your optometrist or ophthalmologist knows about what’s medically relevant. “The most important contribution a patient can give me is a thorough and accurate health history,” Doctors say. Patients often don’t realize that there’s a connection between illnesses and eye issues. Hypertension, blood pressure and diabetes can all be detected by looking in the back of the eye; so alert your doctor to your risk factors so that he can take the right course of action during the exam. Also mention your hobbies too; your doctor, knowing what sports or leisure activities you like to do in your free time makes it easier for him or her to make appropriate recommendations for correcting vision and keeping your eyes healthy.

2. Good sexual habits discourage urinary tract infections
Certain sexual habits and positions encourage urinary tract infections. Penetration from the back during sexual intercourse can easily transfer bacteria from the area around the anus to the vagina/urethra in women and the urethra in men. Some couples also practice both anal and vaginal sex at the same time, this is a recipe for disaster.
Wash your genital area (including the area around the anus both before and after sexual intercourse to help prevent transferring bacteria to the urethra or vaginal area, which can lead to a Urinary tract infection.
In trying to stimulate the clitoris in women, the urethras of both female and male are subjected to a lot of friction, this increases the risk of urinary tract infection.
From the above, you will realize that if you experience repeated urinary tract infections, change of your sexual habits as advised above will help prevent them;  also positions adopted during the act.

3. Avoid late meals
Heavy meals late at night can disturb sleep owing to the discomfort of lying on the bed with full stomach, possible regurgitation of the food and heart burn. Fatty foods are worst as digestion takes longer.
Endeavour to eat your meals before 8 pm

4. There is an association between alcohol and some cancers
There is an association between alcohol and some cancers. These cancers include – cancer of the mouth, of the throat, liver and breast. The risk is about five (5) to ten (10) times higher in heavy drinkers than in those who do not take alcohol.
Alcohol is said to contain something that increases the risk of cancer particularly that of the mouth and throat.

5. Environmental Pollution can increase our risk of developing cancers.
Our physical environment – air, water and soil – can increase our risk of developing cancers. Polluted air by chemicals (fumes, smoke), if inhaled increases the risk of lung cancer; those living near refineries, incinerators are especially at risk of cancer of the bladder, skin and lungs.
Soil, contaminated by pesticides affects the food chain – taken up by plants which are later eaten by man, is also incriminated in some cancers.
Water polluted by toxic wastes also increases the risk of some cancers

6. Communication is key to strengthening marriage
Always Communicate; discuss issues that are appear contentious rather than bottling them up. We all make mistakes and are from different backgrounds; consequently by communication, misconceptions are erased, reasons for actions are explained and apologies rendered where necessary.
There are going to be disagreements. There will be times when your partner says or does something that hurts you. The happy relationships will talk about it and work through it. The bad relationships will let it stew until it becomes an even bigger problem. You will have differences in opinion and taste.
