1. Women should avoid use of vaginal sprays and douches
Feminine hygiene sprays can irritate the urethra and possibly lead to a UTI. Avoiding these products will help prevent not only urinary tract infections, but also other infections and irritations that these products may cause.
Douching has been known for long to encourage the introduction of bacteria into the vagina and the urethra in women. If the douche used is scented, then the chemical used can also irritate the vagina and the urethra.
Avoid vaginal sprays and douching.
2. The liver manufactures cholesterol in the body.
Cholesterol is a fatty substance found in the cover of body cells, brain, nerves, liver, kidney, and egg yolk. It is not found in plant foods. There are two types of cholesterol: High Density Lipoproteins (HDL) and Low Density Lipoproteins (LDL); HDL is said to be the good cholesterol while LDL is the bad cholesterol.
About 85 percent of the total cholesterol required in the body is manufactured by the liver, while the balance 15percent is obtained directly from the animal food we eat (meat, poultry and dairy products).
3. Sex Reduces Prostate Cancer Risk
Frequent ejaculations, especially in 20-something years old men, may reduce the risk of prostate cancer later in life, Australian researchers reported in the British Journal of Urology International. When they followed men diagnosed with prostate cancer and those without, they found no association of prostate cancer with the number of sexual partners as the men reached their 30s, 40s, and 50s.
But they found men who had five or more ejaculations weekly while in their 20s reduced their risk of getting prostate cancer later by a third.
Another study, reported in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that frequent ejaculations, 21 or more a month, were linked to lower prostate cancer risk in older men, as well, compared with less frequent ejaculations of four to seven monthly.
4. Foods rich in fibre include fruits…………
Fibre – rich foods include – fruits (apple, banana, orange, grape fruits, pear, plum, blackberries, plantain), whole-grain cereals (oat meal, cornflakes) whole grain bread, various types of beans, vegetables (carrot, broccoli, bitter leaf and other Nigerian leaves for making soup). All of them contain soluble and insoluble fibres.
5. Constipation can be prevented.
Eating fibre-rich food can help to prevent constipation. The fibre-rich foods include cereals, whole grain bread, fruits, vegetables, beans and fibre-rich carbohydrates. Fibre-rich foods increase the bulk of faeces. Drinking plenty of water regularly also helps to prevent constipation-as water in the intestines increases the bulk of faeces and also softens them.
Use of the toilet every morning whether the urge is there or not help to tame the body to want to use the toilet every morning. This habit helps to prevent constipation.
It is said that eating nuts stimulates bowel movement and this prevent constipation.
6. Most cancers are to a large extent preventable.
About 30 percent of all cancers can be prevented by change in lifestyle, diet, exposure and immunization. Red meat (beef, lamb and pork) and process meat (sausage, bacon, ham and salami) are said to be associated with higher rate of bowel cancer, minimize their consumption. As you age, eat more of fish, chicken (without the skin), nuts, beans and soya-beans for your protein.
This is called Primary prevention.
Another 30 percent can be prevented by early detection and effective treatment, this is secondary prevention.
7. Water melon improves penile erection.
Water melon contains certain substances called amino acids which are the actually the smallest forms of protein. Some of these amino acids are used by the body to produce arginine which is helpful in widening blood vessels in the body and therefore increases blood flow. Because of this, arginine helps to increase penile erection.
Water melon therefore helps to reduce impotence.
8. Alcohol increases risk of High Blood Pressure and Stroke
Blood pressure can shoot up following excessive alcohol intake, for those who are hypertensive   that could be very dangerous, a few have had stroke.
9. A couple may not have the same sexual appetite
A couple may not have the same sexual appetite, some men want to have sex everyday, a lot women do not because of official work and domestic chores which sap their energy.
Men prefer sex in the morning while women prefer the night.
Sometimes rejection creeps in, the man who is usually the attacker feels rejected when the wife says she is tired for sex often, a mid-way ; a comprise must be found.
As the couple gets older other sexual problems will arise but a good understanding and a visit to the doctor can always solve the problem.
