President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Pharm. Ahmed Yakasai, has said the recent collaboration between pharmacists and other colleagues in the health sector has started yielding positive outcomes.  He said collaboration and team work was sine qua non to the delivery of improved healthcare services in the country. It would also reduce mortality rate arising from some chronic diseases, he added. Yakasai stated this at the 10th annual scientific conference and exposition of the Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA) held in Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States of America recently. The theme of the conference was, “Delivering Healthcare Through a Multidisciplinary Team Approach” which, according to the president, “is particularly interesting because clinical care is becoming increasingly complex with aging populations, increase in the incidence of chronic diseases like diabetes, cancer, HIV/AIDS and occurrence of co-morbidities.
