The National Institutes of Health funded study has found that there is a link between home cooking and lowered type 2 diabetes risk. They looked at 58,000 women and 41,000 men who did not have type2 diabetes and concluded that people who ate 11 or more home cookedmeals per week had a significantly lowered risk of developing type 2 diabetes than those who ate-out. The researchers said those who ate out are more likely to take more sugar, sweetened beverages, processed foods, unhealthy fats and more salt.
Also, such foods contain fewer fresh fruits, veggies and whole grains
