About 100 doctors from the Abuja University Teaching Hospital (ABTH) have been retrained on specialist medical procedures by medical experts from the Apollo Hospitals in India.

The Nigerian Country Manager of the Apollo Hospitals Group, Rakesh Jalla said the Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme hopes to improves patient care by providing physicians and other health care professionals with evidence-based training on advances in medicine, new medical technology and biomedical research.

Jalla explained that it is a learning process wherein doctors from Apollo Hospital will share their expertise with the doctors here in Nigeria.

He said “Some of these procedures are done in Nigeria but there are certain things the doctors need further information on and that is the reason our consultants are here and they want to share their expert knowledge with them.”
