JIBWIS to start school of Nursing in Zaria.

During his visit to the hospital, the National Chairman of the group, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, disclosed that the Jama’atu Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) will upgrade the Muslim Specialist Hospital, Zaria, and set up  a nursing school with the facility, and the committee would be set up to facilitate the upgrading of the hospital and the taking off of the school

Lau, urged wealthy Muslims to make their contribution to the realization of the projects, saying that since the hospital was subsiding its charges, assisting it would attract rewards from Allah.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the hospital’s Board, Alhaji Mustapha Jumare, said the hospital which was designed to have 300 beds for 300 patients, currently had only 90 beds, and that for it to realize it full potentials, the sum of N1.3 billion was required.

  Lagos State Inaugurates CCU to perform Open Heart Surgery.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Lagos state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, disclosed that the Lagos State Government has inaugurated a state-of the art Critical Care Unit (CCU) at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), as efforts to perform open heart surgery and reduce the number of persons flying abroad to seek medical checkup, and the facility would save about $3 billion spent annually on foreign medical tourism, adding that the government was strongly committed to the establishment of a World –Class Medical Park at the site of the old school of Nursing in Ikoyi.

According to him, ‘’ this medical facility by design operation will be deployed in the care of those in dire health condition that hitherto per-disposes our people towards foreign medical tourism. It will complement the capacity of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) established over a decade.

The Secretary to Lagos state  Government, Mr. Tunji Bello, he assured of the state’s continuous commitment towards strengthen its health institutions and  up scaling the human capital. ‘’We have concluded plans to revamp and upgrade the health facilities in the state through the injection of N10 billion in the next few weeks, Primary focus will be on the procurement of crucial modern medical equipment and infrastructure upgrade’’
