Hauwa Umar Aliyu, made the disclosure yesterday that the Jigawa State Government has listed 270 primary schools for the commencement of the pilot programme for feeding primary school pupils in the state. According to her, the benefiting primary schools were those that were hard to reach and schools with deficiency in nutrition, adding that after ascertaining the success and otherwise of the programme, government would look at the possibility of expanding the programme to cover the state. Aliyu explained that Jigawa state arrived at the decision to commence primary school pupils feeding programme to complement the proposed Federal Government’s feeding programme for primary school pupils from class one to three.
