Kaduna Starts House-to-House Waste Collection Tomorrow
During an assessment tour to waste collection facilities, in Zaria, The Kaduna state Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Shehu Balarabe Giwa, disclosed that the state government will begin house-to-house waste collection tomorrow through its waste collection Company, ZL Global Alliance, and the government under Governor Nasir El-Rufai had zero tolerance for dirty environment. Commending the ZL Global Alliance for its efforts towards managing solid waste in the state, Giwa said,
“We want the company to continue with the workable strategy that will make Kaduna cleaner than the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and we are already on that course with establishment of transfer stations and dumping sites across the three geopolitical zones of the state, “and about 6,000 people were currently engaged across the state for the purpose of keeping the environment clean. In her remark, the Managing Director of ZL Global Alliance, Abiola Bashorun, encouraged residents to package their waste to allow easy evacuation..
