The Medical Director, Kubwa General Hospital, Dr. Danfulani Danladi, has disclosed plans by the management of the hospital to introduce on-line booking for patients in all the units of the hospital to manage crowd control as well as enhance efficient service delivery.
Dr. Danladi, who dropped the hint in an interview with Press, said the system, which would also ensure proper documentation, has, already been experimented with the eye clinic section.
He, however, noted that the normal registration system will still be in place, especially for those who may not be able to register online, but assured that nobody would be shortchanged.
Acknowledging the steady increase in number of patients in the hospital which he put at 15,000 per day, the medical director pledged consistent expansion of facilities to meet with the high demand.
“My major challenge here is that as soon as you take a step to reduce the pressure by upgrading any unit, there is always a corresponding spill over. But we will continue to do our best to navigate those challenges,” he stated.
He called for patience and understanding on the part of the patients, and the need to take the workers into consideration, insisting that nobody who visited the hospital would leave unattended to.
“Patients must get to know that the more pressure is on the facilities, definitely there must be some slight delay because of the population explosion.
“You can imagine when you have up to 500 persons waiting to be attended to at the same time. Of course, there is no way that large crowd can be attended to the way they want. The situation really calls for calm and patience,” he urged.
