A study report just released by a research team in George Washington University, United States of America has shown that a combination of long term Exercise and Low fat/low calorie diet is the best method of preventing type 2 Diabetes.

The study involved about 2700 participants who are overweight or obese with high blood sugar levels over a fifteen year period from 1999-2014. They were divided into two groups randomly, one group was given an anti-diabetic drug, METFORMIN while the other was placed on daily 15 minutes light exercise and low fat/low calorie diet.

The group on exercise and diet showed better prevention result especially in persons above  60 years.
