No less than a thousand residents of Makoko, a slum settlement on Lagos Mainland, South West Nigeria recently benefited from a free health care organized by the Makoko Local Government, George Kerry Life Foundation (GKLF) and US health experts. 

The free medical outreach which is in partnership with US Consulate Medical team was sponsored by J. Kirby Simon Foreign Service Trust and Coca-Cola.

The George Kerry Life foundation which  fights against Cervical Cancer said the health screening is not just for women, but also for everybody in the community that needs any health service.

A resident of the community, Mr Adegbemi Adekunle told Daily Times that they received free medical checkup for diabetes, breast and cervical cancer, hypertension, B/P and others.
