Nnaka Ononaku, a 45-year-old carpenter was on Monday 26th March, 2018 arraigned at Ebute Metta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria for allegedly strangling his wife to death and throwing her body into the lagoon.

The prosecutor, Insp. Cousins Adams had told the court that the accused committed the offense on February 15 at about 1pm at his residence. He said the accused strangled his wife, Iyabo Akinpelu, 48 before throwing her body into the Lagoon.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Adegite, remanded the accused at the Ikoyi Prisons, pending legal advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

She adjourned the case until April 30 for the legal advice.
