The Influenza Vaccination Campaign 2015 carried out by the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life is being carried out since Monday 27 April 2015 in all regional hospitals, district hospitals, Area Health Centres and mediclinics.

This is one of many wellness initiatives that the Ministry has put in place in an effort to improving the health of the population during the flu season.

The Ministry of Health and Quality of Life is committed to increasing influenza protection especially among high risk groups. In this context, a targeted vaccination campaign for high risk groups, such as health care professionals, pregnant women, children aged between six months and two years, and patients with chronic lung disease, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, diabetes, tuberculosis, chronic renal failure requiring dialysis, cardiovascular disease, cancer and HIV/AIDS is being carried out.

Vaccination for the elderly (60 years and above) and persons with disabilities staying in charitable institutions is also being carried out by the Ministry of Social Security, National Solidarity and Reform Institutions. The vaccination campaign is targeting the population of Rodrigues and Agalega as well.
