Over 50 deaths have been recorded in the country from the outbreak of Lassa fever inspite of Governments efforts.
Prof. Abdusalam Nasidi, Director, National Centre of Disease Control Abuja announced that a new strain of meningitis, had killed a number of people in the country.
He also expressed that most suspected death cases of Lassa fever could really be the symptoms of a new virus because the cases seen are different from the symptoms of Lassa fever.
During the World Health Organization meeting in Geneva on Monday, the NGO, “Doctors Without Borders” MSF warned health officials to prepare to battle dengue fever, zika, Ebola and kala Azar virus outbreak in Nigeria.
