A seven-year-old girl partially lost her vision after being administered Anti-Rabies Vaccine at a government clinic here, her family alleged, following which the health authorities have decided to send her for further medical examination. The victim of monkey bite, Tanha, was given first-aid by the doctors at Primary Health Centre of Kosi Kalan here on June 25. She was given the vaccine at the same clinic on June 27, the family said.

Today, she was taken to ophthalmologist at a district hospital in Mathura, where her family members alleged that she started loosing her eyesight after receiving the vaccine. “She started loosing her eyesight ever since she was given the vaccine,” her father alleged. However, health authorities claim that as no vision loss case has been reported due to ARV reception, the girl will be sent to Agra medical college to identify the “real cause” of the problem.

“She would be sent to S N Medical College Agra to ascertain the real cause of her eyesight loss as I have never heard such anti-impact of ARV,” Chief Medical Officer Dr Sajjan Kumar said. “Since so far there has been no firm opinion therefore she would be sent for detailed medical check up and tests to S N Medical College Agratomorrow,” the CMO added.
