Malama Hawwa’u Jamilu, 24 was excited about her newborn twin however the joy was cut short when the local nurses that delivered the twins noticed that one of the twin was born with four hands and three legs and like wildfire, the news spread to the community with people trooping into the house of Hawwa’u and her family to see the baby themselves.
The condition of the baby didn’t disturb Hawwa’u claiming it is part of the might of Allah even though she would have loved to deliver the babies without deformity but since Allah in His infinite mercy had decided to create the twins like this, there is nothing she can do and even with that she loved them both. She also stated that throughout her pregnancy she never visited the hospital or went for antenatal since the twin wasn’t her first pregnancy and she usually deliver at home without complication.
On the discovery of the deformity the babies were taken to a local hospital where they were referred to a tertiary hospital. A doctor at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, (ABUTH), Dr. Umar Abdul’aziz said the extra leg and hands can be removed and the little girl can have a normal life. He stated that there is nothing to worry about for it is a case that can be handled by experts after certain investigations.
