Twenty persons have died of cholera in the Shira Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
This is contained in a statement made available by the Information Officer in the LGA, Danlami Baza, in Bauchi on Saturday.
Mr. Baza said 200 persons were admitted in the hospital.
He added that the acting chairman of the LGA, Usman Mashema, called on the public to come out for treatment as soon as they noticed any sign of cholera.
Mr. Baza appealed to the Federal and State Governments as well as donor agencies to come to the aid of those affected.
He dded that the affected communities included Bakul, Dunmagari and Gallari, among others.
