He added that in order not to overstretch facilities at the proposed specialists hospital, expansion work would be carried out on Birniwa Hospital in Birniwa Local Government Area.

He said: “The decision to establish a school of nursing and midwifery is part of the present government’s policy on comprehensive health programme in the state.”

He added that a JAMB centre would also be located in the area to ease difficulties encountered by candidates from the seven areas of the emirate.

“The priority of the present government is provision of education, improving on healthcare delivery and employment creation for sustainable growth and development,” he said.

On the annual flood disaster in Hadejia, the governor said in the interim, dredging of blocked drainages would be carried out, while engineers have been mobilized to access and proffer permanent solution to the annual disaster.

In his remarks, the emir urged his subjects to support and cooperate with the present government on its developmental drive, saying, “any house that deserves to be demolished to give way for drainages shall be brought down even if it is the palace of Hadejia.”
