President Muhammadu Buhari is to address a gathering of heads of state at an international conference on Africa’s fight against Ebola in Equatorial Guinea. The conference is under the auspices of the African Union Commission aims to seek support for post-Ebola recovery and reconstruction in the region, especially for those countries that have been adversely affected by the disease.

Health permanent secretary Linus Awute is to deliver President Buhari’s address in which he will share Nigeria’s experience in Ebola containment and the Country Response Plan against another outbreak. A meeting of African Health Ministers today precedes the conference.
