At a mid-year capacity building meeting on Tuesday, the Practitioners, under the aegis of Healthcare Provider’s Association of Nigeria (HCPAN) , Lagos branch said the association regreted that the health status of Nigeria has continued to worsen, with life expectancy rooted at 54.5 years.

According to the consultant Public Health physician, Dr. Adenike Olanibe, the health indices in Nigeria are poor and need to be improved upon as Nigeria has the eighth-lowest life expectancy at birth and one of the highest maternal mortality in the world.
