The Nigeria Medical Association has said that Nigeria loses about two hundred and fifty million every year from medical treatment abroad; this was at the recently concluded National Executive Meeting in Ilorin, Kwara State. This association said this could be saved if the tertiary hospitals are renovated and properly equipped with modern medical equipment.
In recent years Nigerians have had to turn to countries  such as India, The United Kingdom and The United States of America for medical treatment and check-up costing a sizeable chunk of our scarce resource.

Is better we start restructuring our health system to accommodate private participation in the sector. The capital need is intensive which could be possible with private hands.
